By making the pathways to the school wider and safer, parents will feel more comfortable in having their children ride by themselves. Longer term, the goal is to encourage a lifetime habit of physical activity.
You will find that many of the signs that we sell are Safe Routes to School compliant, and, in fact, my qualify for government funding. For more information, see http://www.saferoutesinfo.org/index.cfm

Over 4,500 pedestrian fatalities occurred in 2003 and 8% of these deaths were children (ages 0-14). Further, 18 percent of the traffic fatalities for children (ages 0-14) were pedestrians. Signs can make a difference.
