Win a sign! Send us your best distracted driving slogan

It’s cut and dry: being a distracted driver endangers everyone around you .

Attention road users: April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and MyParkingSign wants you to join in advocating safer roads for pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists.

Why?

The amount of drivers who take their eyes off the road is disturbing: in a recent study, 69% of American adults admitted to using their cell phone while driving during the month they were polled. Think about that after you learn that texting while driving magnifies the risk of a traffic accident by 23 times, and that motorists who use mobile devices in their car are four times more likely to get seriously injured in an accident. It’s clear that we need to do what we can to reduce distracted driving.

What?

As you know, we sell parking signs, and we also make it a point to support road safety causes. In the spirit of Distracted Driving Awareness month, we’re asking you to get creative. We’re running a competition on our Facebook and Google+ accounts. We want you to craft your own sign-worthy anti-distracted driving message and send it to us. For all of April, you’re invited to share a slogan that speaks to this month’s theme.

Our panel of sign experts will choose two winners. They’ll base their decision on how noticeable the slogan would be to drivers, as well as brownie points for creativity and originality. Make sure to get your entry in by Monday, April 29, and we’ll announce the competition winners on May 1. The top two submissions will be awarded with their golden slogan on a  high-grade aluminum sign –  just like ones you see on the roads.
